Set atop a hill with stunning views, this home hadn't been touched since it was built in the 1980s, and beyond feeling dated, it no longer worked for how the clients actually live. But underneath was a house with beautiful bones: high ceilings, generous room proportions, and architectural details worth celebrating. So rather than impose something new on the house, we followed its lead and brought those bones forward.
This was a full-home renovation in every sense, with structural work and complete kitchen and bath renovations. Multiple walls came down to open the first floor to the front hall, the kitchen, and everything beyond, including a large, closed-off traditional dining room we refashioned into the family room the house had been missing. Custom built-ins around the home's existing arched windows, enhance the architecture, and a botanical fabric used for the window treatments sets a color story that carries across the entire first floor. The result is a home that feels current and suits the clients lifestyle.
